What Happens in a Meeting?
Every 1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesday of the month, we enjoy a meeting (up to 2 hours) where members present speeches. Normally we hear three speeches per evening, usually around 7 minutes long.
We also run an impromptu speaking session where we practise speaking off-the-cuff.
- The speakers are given feedback (evaluations) from fellow members.
- There are a variety of roles within the meeting which are shared around each evening. These include the Toastmaster, who is like the Master Of Ceremonies for the evening, Evaluators, a Grammarian, and Timekeeper.
- The meetings have a fun theme, and are always conducted in a warm and supportive atmosphere. We believe, “We learn best when we’re having fun.”
